China's casting exports in the first five months of 2026 show a positive "volume down, value up" trend, according to customs statistics: exports under 20 HS codes totaled 2.548 million metric tons, down 0.5% year on year, while export value reached $7.35 billion, up 3.6% year on year. The rising unit price indicates that the export mix is upgrading from mid- and low-end products toward high-value precision castings and premium alloy castings.
Industry analysts believe that despite global supply-chain restructuring, China's foundry industry remains internationally competitive thanks to its complete supporting ecosystem and process expertise. Nevertheless, sustained transformation toward precision and high-end products is needed to cope with a changing trade environment and overseas capacity competition.
